Once you depart from Marrakech and head toward Ourika valley, you will pass by several attractions of the Atlas Mountains. Beyond the spectacular outlooks and the road that slightly zigzags in some parts, a series of tiny hamlets are scattered at intervals along the roadsides. The houses are built basically of mud and straw, granting a cosy atmosphere to the residents and a beautiful picture exemplifying the Berber original architecture. However, your drive ends in Setti Fatma, a small village which nestles in Ourika valley. Setti Fatma is particularly known for its waterfalls. Undoubtedly, they are a highlight of the tour. Upon arrival, if you wish to, you will have no trouble hiring a local guide for an hour-long walk to the waterfalls above the village. Once you get back, you shall eat in one of the restaurants alongside the stream.

Ourika valley day trip is an option from few to escape the summer heat of Marrakech and lie around beside the streams and waterfalls. This enables you to get some fresh air and a cool breeze coming out of the mountains.

You will be back to Marrakech by the afternoon.
