Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades valley

At 8am departure from Marrakech, drive through a beautiful green valley rich with vegetation along the sides. Winding slopes and perfectly camouflaged Berber villages up to the Tichka peak of the High Atlas panoramic stop (2260 m a.s.l.). Continue to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou: Fascinating 800-year-old Berber architectural structures.

Once arrived to the top of the Kasbah hill, we will enjoy the great view towards the ancient caravan roads to Marrakech and the distant peaks of the High Atlas Mountains. Visit of the Kasbah ruins, silent witnesses of the ancient culture of the Kasbah inhabitants.

After lunch in Ait Ben Haddou heading to Ouarzazate. Take the photo of Kasbah of Taourirt then drive towards Dades valley through Skoura palm and the road of Thousand Kasbahs.

Late afternoon, arrive to your accommodation in Dades valley. Overnight in the hotel/Kasbah.

Day 2: Dades valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga

After breakfast, drive towards Todra Gorges, where you can enjoy a walking tour beside the valley. Carry on the road to Merzouga across several berbere villages including Tinjdad, Mellaab and Touroug in additional to palm trees of Jorf and the town of Erfoud. If the time permit you can visit a workshop production of marble fossils in Erfdoud before heading to Merzouga.

Arrival at the impressive dunes of Merzouga late afternoon and change the vehicle by camel to experience one of your memorable life experience and sunset in the dunes. Once getting to the camp, you will be welcomed by a cup of tea before check-in.

After diner, you will enjoy a drums part played by locals before going to sleep or watch the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga

Early morning, wake up for camel riding and outstanding sunrise. Then have a shower and breakfast before start your journey.

The day is dedicated to discover the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi. We will drive through the desert on a 4×4, visiting the nomads behind the dunes of Erg Chebbi and the Oasis of Hassi Lbied. We will go also to the village of Khamlia where you will enjoy listening to original music and folk songs of the Gnawas.

After lunch, driver back to your accommodation. You can walk or do a quad biking in the dunes at sunset.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz valley – Midelt – Fes

After breakfast leave the quietness of the Sahara desert towards the bustle of the city of Fes you’ll cross the town of Rissani and Tafilalet; the center of Allaouit dynasties, the valley of Ziz and Ziz gorges.

After lunch in a local restaurant in the middle Atlas Mountains, continue the road through the cedar forests. Cedar was used from the Phoenician times and Roman time for woodcraft, essences and Building even ancient Marine boats. Then pass through Azrou; typical Zayan Middle Atlas Berber village and Ifran.

Arrival to Fes at 6pm approx.

Superior accommodation:

• Dades Valley: Dar Rihana, Auberge Chez Pierre, La Perle Du Dades, Xaluca Dades or similar
• Merzouga (first night): Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or similar
• Merzouga (second night): Riad Azawad or similar

Important to know

The lodging in Dades Valley remains consistent for both categories in the shared option, featuring standard accommodations. If you prefer superior lodging in all destinations, it is advisable to opt for the private option.

An additional fee of 60EUR for standard accommodation or 90EUR for superior accommodation is applicable for a single room. For solo travelers, the extra fee is processed at the time of booking.
